Concordia Angel Network (CAN) is an affiliate of CU Ventures. Consider joining CAN to participate in pitch events, gain access to exciting investment opportunities in promising new startups, and support Concordia through your investments.
CAN membership criteria
- Must be an accredited investor
- Must be supportive of Concordia’s mission
- Must have previous experience and a proven record in business management
- Must be passionate about cultivating entrepreneurship among university students
- Should expect to make at least one investment per year
CAN presentation meetings
- CU Ventures will host 3-4 CAN meetings/pitch events per year
- Meetings take place over dinner and begin with an overview of the agenda, updates pertaining to recent investments, and any information concerning the angel network
- Company presentations are about one-half hour with time for questions
- Presenters are adjourned to another room during the discussion period where angels assess the opportunity and make investment decisions
- Presenters are informed of any decisions the night of the meeting
Due diligence and investment updates
- A formal due diligence process is completed with each new investment for the angels
- CU Ventures addresses additional questions and concerns from the angels regarding presenting companies or previous investments
- Portfolio company updates are provided periodically concerning funding status, documentation signing, due diligence status, and more
